Worlds Apart is my Splatoon OC fanfiction!
A spontaneously formed squad consisting of a former shut-in, a bundle of sunshine, a shy bean who can kill a man, and the most accident-prone inkling on the planet need to win an impending Turf War tournament - each for their own reasons. They have no synergy, but that’s okay! There’s about half a year for training. Maybe we’ll sort out our personal issues and make lifelong friends along the way.

Hiro is, by all accounts, an unremarkable lad who is content to never talk to anyone ever and eat pie all day. But if he wants to win this tournament, then it seems he's going to have to put up with these chucklefucks for a little bit. Sure hope no life lessons come from this experience.

Always quick with a hello, Hickory has always wanted friends of her own! Now that she’s stumbled into three of them, she hopefully won’t scare them away with her enthusiasm. She doesn't really comprehend the concept of social cues, but oh, she's so excited she could just explode!!

A mumbling little sweetheart with the unrefined fighting skill of ten grown men. Jade is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield - if only her crippling anxiety wasn’t holding her back. Underneath her bangs, she's a die-hard Squid Sisters fangirl and would love to meet them someday!

True to the title, Eggs is best known for his often comical bad luck, which has seen him memed into oblivion by his peers. He's internet famous for setting fire to the Crust Bucket somehow, for which he has been dubbed the Splatfest Firelord. His lifelong goal is to catch the school bus on-time.

As the winners of last year's tournament, Team Smallfry are the team to beat. Led by Delilah, (aka Hiro's explosive ex who is holding his favorite hoodie hostage) these guys have learned teamwork by working as Salmon Runners at Grizzco industries, which is also where they met!
A pair of young octoling sisters who Hiro found in Octo Canyon. They emotionally latched onto him and have refused to let go since, demanding chips and flavoured milk lest they beat him with dead tree branches. They're... probably harmless. Probably.
Hiro's twin sister and all-around prodigy. Did you know she won the junior Turf War tournament when they were 7? She's a different kind of beast on the battlefield. Bit of a Mary-Sue if you ask me. She's been out of town for a while, but is just so excited to reconnect with her brother!
